Real Madrid continues their incredible season in 2016-17. Real Madrid has to play some great matches against top clubs against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid including championship league matches where they played double header  against Bayern Munich. Zinedine Zidane’s side now aim to hold onto their place at the top of the table.

Real Madrid with their win against Alaves takes five points to second placed Barcelona. For Madrid it was their star forward Karim Benzema who opened the score later Isco and Nacho each score to take the lead to 3-0.  Zinedine Zidane took a tough decision by resting their captain Sergio Ramos as they had some busy schedule ahead. Coming to the match Real Madrid was the favourite to win the match. Game plan set by Zidane was clean and clear with 4-3-3 formation as they knew all they need to do is to play some attacking soccer to win the match, whereas Alaves followed 4-2-3-1 formation. Right from the start of the match Real Madrid showed their dominance in the field with 60% ball possession. They took almost 18 shots out of which 6 were on target. Real Madrid was trying hard to open their scoring but they were missing their target. It was 31’when Karim Benzema finds the corner of the net after perfect assist from Carvajal. It was nine La Liga goals for Benzema this season. On the other hand Ronaldo was trying hard to score but had his luck several time as the ball got deflected after hitting the wall. Alaves tried hard to equalise but never succeeded. In the late half –time Real Madrid was just an edge away from scoring another goal when Bale sweeps just wide of the goal post. At the end of half-time Real Madrid lead 1-0.



Real Madrid resumes the second half of play on their home soil with an attacking game and earned them a free kick, but couldn’t convert it. Ronaldo and Bale both looked dangerous in possession of the ball. It was the 55’of the match when Ronaldo finally scored a goal but was later denied by the referee. There was several chances created by the attacking game. Mean while Bale grimaces his left ankle but still the Wales forward continue to play. In 85’Isco scored the second goal of the match from the perfect pass from Ronaldo with tight angle. Just then in 88’ Nacho scored from Bale’s thumping free kick, which after hitting the crossbar defected by Nacho. At the end of Full-Time, it was Real Madrid who won by 3-0.  Real Madrid has now increased the pressure on Barcelona in La Liga title race.

  • With this win against Alaves, Real Madrid is five points ahead of the second-placed Barcelona.
