Amazon launched its global startup program “Launchpad” in India. The flagship program is aimed at helping Indian startups in gaining market excess. The joining startups will be able to utilize the portal for marketing, selling and to deliver their products as well as gain visibility in India and around the globe.
Amit Agarwal, Head of Amazon India, today announced this exciting development. He also mentioned that over 25 startups from India are already listed on the “Launchpad” platform. Globally, around 400 startups are using the platform to gain access to markets and sell their products.
Amazon has also tied up with different supporting bodies of government to provide help and support to the startups. These bodies are Nasscom, DIPP, Maharashtra Government, Indian Angle Network and various other venture capitalists.
“Launchpad”, a global startup support initiative is flagship program of Amazon which supports the global startups to gain more visibility and access to different target markets. The program was launched in 2015 and is live.

Amazon leaders mentioned that this unique startup support initiative will help the Indian startups in dealing with challenges with regards to their products, marketing and any other related difficulties.
The Launchpad portal currently showcases innovative products from around 400 startups. Many startups have used the Launchpad portal to gain visibility. These have been able to successfully establish their business.
Amit Agarwal also mentioned that already 25 Indian startups have joined this program. These startups will be using Amazon’s marketplace expertise and global infrastructure to generate brand visibility and sell their products to a worldwide target audience. India will be the seventh market where Amazon has launched the “Launchpad” program forstartup support. Other major countries that have seen the benefits of this program are the Unites States, Germany, China, France and the United Kingdom.
Many startups from India such as Witworks, Leaf Wearables, Ducere Technologies, and Seventh Sense Technologies etc. have listed their products at the portal.

Recently, Amazon invested around $2 billion in India and pledged to invest at-lest $3 billion more to outrun home-grown rivals such as Flipkart and Snapdeal.
