Cedric Hengbart Scores Fastest Goal of the Tournament

The sensational football match between FC Pune and Kerala Blasters ended at 1-1 draw here in the third edition of Indian Super League (ISL) on Monday. Cedric Hengbart of Kerala Blasters scored the fastest goal of ISL in the 3rd minute of the match, but the team failed to utilize this early edge over FC Pune as Mohamed Sissoko levelled the lead in the 68th minute of the match.
Now as per the pointer table, the Kerala Blasters is still on the 5th position with 5 points while Pune City with 4 points is languishing on the 6th place, just above FC Goa which is at the last position in the table.

The French stopper, Hengbart’s quick reaction on Azrack Mahamat’s pass gave the lead to Kerala Blasters within first 5 minutes of the commencement of the game. It was Cedric Hengbart’s first goal in the ISL.

Jesus Tato volleyed wide from the edge of the penalty area 11 minutes later, but the Kerala Blasters player foiled Tato’s attempt to shoot a goal. Dramane Traore was next, who to try to hit the goal but his header from a corner sailed over the bar. In the 23rd minute, Tarore again got the chance but this time, the host didn’t commit any mistake and the goalkeeper clutched the ball.

Soon after Kerala’s skipper had to change match’s strategy, and in the 36th minute Mehtab Hossain came very close to hit a goal but the shot went inches wide of goalpost.

But, Gouramangi Singh foiled Rafi’s shot and gave his team a fighting chance in the match. Then in the 56th minute, Traore has almost converted a weak pass from Josu Currais in a goal. But, the Blasters’ goalkeeper Sandip Nandy rushed off his line and did just about enough to thwart the danger.

After repeated attacks, Traore finally shot the ball in the back of the net by a powerful header from a Rahul bheke’s . But the joy turned to disappointment after the lines man raised his flag for off-side to cancel out the equaliser.

However, happiness touched PUNE FC in the 68th minute, when the team skipper Sissoko led from the front. The 31-year-old’s shot from the edge of the box deflected off Hughes, giving Nandy no chance in goal. The game of Kerala Blasters has risen further after the match, as the header by substitute Faruk Chaudhary in the 72nd minute forced Edel Bette to jump a long drive to save the goal.
