India is the home for education, tradition culture and to the most beautiful creatures on Earth. There are more than 80 national parks and around 400+ wildlife sanctuaries which give shelter to endangered wild animals.
India is losing the precious wild animals to due to deforestation, human interference, poaching, and hunting. Animals which are endangered are mostly rated on a specific scale such as Critically Endangered (ER), Endangered (EN), or Vulnerable (VU).
The big cats are the most endangered animals in India which are Snow Leopard, Bengal tiger, and Asiatic Lion. Purple Frog or Pig nose Frog, Great Indian Vulture, Indian giant squirrel,Asiatic Cheetah, Pink-headed duck and Indian aurochs are a few of the extinct animals.
Royal Bengal Tiger
The Royal Bengal Tiger is a member of the Felidae family. The excessive poaching is one of the reasons that these big cats are on the verge of extinction. There are about 1411 Royal Bengal Tigers left in India which is a very small population. Most of these are found in Gir National Park.
Dolphin
The River Ganges is home to a member of the Cetacea Family, Indian Dolphin. Dolphins are quite prevalent in the Ganges and Brahmaputra Rivers. They share their habitat with other sea creatures like the fresh water turtles and crocodiles.
Gharial
One of the three crocodilians found in India is the Gharial. The river Ganges has an extensive population of Gharials. The gharial is 
listed as the most critically endangered species in India. Many gharials died in the Chambal river due to the polluted river water.
Great Indian Bustard
The Great Indian Bustard is one of the rarest birds in India. It’s known to be one of the world’s heaviest flying birds. The Bird is only found in a very few parts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. The population of the Great Indian Bustard has dropped so low that there are only less than a thousand birds today.
Indian Rhinoceros
The one Horned Rhino found in India is the fourth largest animal in the world. It’s found mostly in North Eastern India. The excessive hunting reduced the rhino’s natural habitat. Today, while 3,000 rhinos are living in the wild, 2,000 of them are found in Manas and 
Kaziranga National Park in Assam.
Black Buck
The Kala Hiran or the Blackbuck is a species of antelope found only in India. It’s one the most graceful and beautiful animals among the Antelope species. The blackbuck population has been reduced so drastically due to the extensive poaching activities. Very few antelopes are found in the Guindy National Park in Tamil Nadu and Rollapadu in Andhra Pradesh. They are a few which are also found in Chilka (Orissa) and a few parts of Rajasthan and Haryana
Indian Wild Ass
The Indian Wild Ass is one of the subspecies of the Asiatic Wildass which is only found in Rann of Kutch. There are approximately 362 
animals left which guarantee the Indian Wild Ass a place in the ‘highly endangered species of India’ list.
We are losing our precious animals because of the various activities humans participate in. The human interference is one of the primary reasons for why we lose these precious animals. Protect the environment and its species.
