Born in Hawaii on 4.8.1961, Barack Obama had to really struggle very hard to climb up the ladder to become the forty-fourth POTUS for not just one but two consecutive terms which are the maximum permissible limit under the American Constitution. There was a stage in his life, he pursued according to an Autobiography when he sat in between the graves of his father and grandfather and bitterly wept and wept for hours together. And then made up his mind for further course of action. He shifted to Chicago and started working for a group of Churches to nurse and rejuvenate certain communities who were badly hit by shutting down of steel factories.
Student life:-
He belonged to a typical middle – class family and had his schooling on scholarships. There were only three black students in his school. It made him fully understand the meaning of racialism pursued law studies in 1988 and became the first African- American President of the Harvard Law Journal. After graduation in 1991, he returned to Chicago and entered the legal profession. Apart from being a teacher performing the task of nurturing certain down- trodden communities on behalf of the Church, he established himself as a civil rights lawyer and also taught Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago.

As a Senator:-
With his widespread grassroots contacts, he started taking interest in politics. His works as an Advocate made him go for the ticket of the Democratic Party for the Senate elections in 1996 from Illinois State. As a State Senator, he worked with one and all to draft legislation on ethics. For the needy classes, he extended health care and primary education. As a Chairman of one of the Senate’s Committees, he worked with Law Enforcement officials to videotape the interrogations and confessions of many innocent but implicated in death penalty cases. He was opposed to Iraq war which broke out in 2003.
As an Author:-
In 2005, he came out with a book, titled: ‘ The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts of Reclaiming the American Dream.’ It was published in October 2006. Even in 1995, he had come out with an autobiography titled as: ‘Dreams from my Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.’
These books reflect the precious personal views of the author as well. It has been penned down in the latter volume that Barack Obama used to often stand before the mirror and inspect himself as to whether all his limbs are intact? whether is he looking normal? Such was the time when he used to have a desolate feeling of abandonment and height of frustration.
As a President:-
Meandering his path through the Senate, Barack Obama rose to the position of being the first citizen of America in 2009 till 2017. The decisions taken by him in the administration of the United States are still being followed by the present echelons of power, if not in letter but in spirit. One of such mandates relates to the management and functioning of jails in America by the private sector rather than by Government agencies. Obama’s step had affected only thirteen percent prisons housing about 22,000 people who happen to be mostly foreign nationals imprisoned for immigration violations. Trump rule has ignited a crackdown on crime and illegal immigration suggesting that Prisons Bureau could require a larger holding capacity within a short period of time. Washington’s administration also reinstated private prisons for Federal Inmates. In short, Barack Obama had a scintillating career as POTUS.
