Ingredients required:
- 1 tsp oil/2sp butter
- 3 medium cubed onion(optional)
- 3 large chopped tomatoes(diced)
- Salt
- 10-12 cashew nuts
- 1 tsp. Coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder (optional)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 green cardamom
- 2-3 cloves
- Ginger garlic paste
- 250 grams paneer/cottage cheese(cubbed)
- 1 tsp Kasuri methi/fenugreek leaves(optional)
- 3 tsp cream
- Coriander leaves for garnish
How to Cook Paneer Butter Masala – Step-by-step:
- First, heat a pan with oil and fry the onions until they turn brown.
- Next, fry the tomatoes till it turns soft.
- Then add garam masala, coriander powder, cashews, red chilli powder and sugar.
- Fry all the items together till it starts leaving the sides of the pan. Once the desired result is achieved, switch off the heat and keep it aside.
- Next, add butter in the same pan and add all the spices all by one and fry for 2 minutes.
- Add ginger garlic paste and sauté till the raw smell disappears.
- Now pour the puree you had kept aside initially and add red chilli powder as desired. Add water and cook for 4 minutes till the gravy thickens.
- Once the gravy thickens, add paneer cubes to it. Add Kasuri methi to it and cook for 3 minutes then add cream as desired.
- Garnish with cream or crushed pepper or coriander leaves and serve hot.
