BARCELONA TOPS THE LA LIGA WITH A VICTORY AGAINST SEVILLA

BARCELONA VS SEVILLA: 3-0

Barcelona is back on top of La Liga after thumping victory against Sevilla, their four wins in four matches this season. The lead might be temporary as Real Madrid takes on Leganes later tonight. Luis Suarez the player in form for Barcelona opens the scoring with a stunning overhead kick. Lionel Messi scored twice on his return to the squad in first half.

BARCELONA DEFEATED GRANADA WITH EASE

Barcelona playing at their home at Nou Camp were full of confidence after the return of Lionel Messi. Luis Enrique placed a very unusual line-up of 3-1-2-1-3, looking at the formation it’s obvious that Barcelona wanted to play an attacking match. I haven’t seen any such formation since years. On the other hand, Sevilla showed its strength in defence with 3-2-4-1. As the match started Barcelona forward was on sore and Messi played centre forward. In the 25’of the match Luis Suarez fires Barcelona into the lead when Clement Lenglet scoops the ball into the air and Suarez made no mistakes to quickly unleash a brilliant overhead kick to score the opener. Right then in 28’Barcelona counter-attacked Sevilla’s attack where Neymar overhit a low cross to Suarez at the far post, who in turn cuts the back to Messi, and Messi puts one through the nets with perfections. Sevilla had no clue what just happened as they were about to score but a brilliant counter attack cost them a goal. Later in 33’ Messi scores again from a corner kick but Sevilla’s defence was too late to react and Messi fires a rocket past Rico to the bottom right-hand corner. Neymar to showed some aggression with the ball but ran out of luck to score a goal. The first half of the play belongs to the Barcelona as they took a lead of 3-0 up to half time.

ATHLETIC STRENGTHEN THEIR POSITON IN LA-LIGA

It’s been raining in Nou Camp. Sevilla wanted a comeback goal in the match but to their surprise, Neymar and Iniesta were so close to scoring another goal for Barca. Iniesta has been a team player for Barcelona s he competed for a preposterous 48 of 49 passes in the first half of the match. Barcelona didn’t have anything to lose from such a fine first half and thus Messi, Neymar, Suarez and Roberto kept on attacking keeping Sevilla on the back foot. Sevilla had their chances on the field but ran out of luck as they were unable to convert into goals. During the entire pay, Barcelona had 55% of ball possession while Sevilla had 45% but the real difference was on attack as Barcelona took 14 shots out of which 7 were on target, whereas Sevilla managed only 5 shots with 2 on target. At the end of full-time Barcelona won 3-0 against Sevilla.
